About the parish
Welcome to our Parish ☦︎ We are an Orthodox Christian community located in Hesperia, California, serving the needs of all Orthodox Christians in the High Desert area. St. George Orthodox Christian Parish is a member of the Diocese of the West of the Orthodox Church in America, under the omophorion of His Grace, Bishop Vasily of San Francisco and the West. Our membership is multi-ethnic, and many of us are converts to Orthodoxy. All of our services are in English. We welcome all Orthodox Christians, as well as those seeking to learn about the Orthodox faith. Please keep in your hearts and prayers all Orthodox Christians here and throughout the world, especially those who are persecuted or have lost their lives in the Middle East and around the world.
Visiting for the first time?
- Arrive a few minutes early. Sunday services often last up to two hours.
- Dress modestly and follow what others around you do.
- You are welcome to stand and pray, or simply watch. No one expects you to know everything.
- Holy Communion is received by Orthodox Christians who have prepared for it. After the service, introduce yourself to the priest and ask anything you wish.
