Youth Formation
Bible Verses for Orthodox Youth Ministry
Use this sequence during youth group nights, retreat talks, or one-on-one mentoring sessions. Pair each verse with journaling prompts inside AthonApp so young believers connect the text to daily life.
#1 — 1 Timothy 4:12
“Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, conduct, love, spirit, faith, and purity.”
Recited during youth commissioning services to remind teens that holiness is possible now.
#2 — Ephesians 6:10-11
“Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God.”
#3 — Philippians 2:15-16
“Shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life.”
#4 — 1 Peter 5:8-9
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion.”
#5 — Hebrews 12:1-2
“Run with endurance the race set before you, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.”
#6 — 2 Timothy 1:7
“God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
Invite youth to breathe slowly while repeating, “I belong to Christ,” after each verse. Encourage them to note one action the Holy Spirit places on their heart.
Liturgical connection: Ideal for youth retreats before confession, back-to-school blessings, or teen catechesis during Lent.
